We spent a glorious summer week at Le Manoir and were exceptionally well looked after by Josiane and her team. The twelve of us had ample accommodation (the ensuites are perfect) and were able to spread out amongst the communal rooms during the evenings when we were not all eating together. Josiane organised a completely tailored package of food shopping, catering and cleaning and could not have been more helpful. The pool and enormous grounds were excellent, and we can highly recommend Le Manoir to anyone looking for a large and flexible venue. Thank you again Josiane for making our stay so easy and memorable.
Manoir Les Gaillardoux is a charming property in a beautiful setting. The Manoir has been thoughtfully renovated to a high standard and makes for a very pleasant stay in the French countryside. It is a lovely destination for a family holiday and we had a very enjoyable time. The road cycling around the area is good, with breath-taking views and quiet roads. We visited Cahors twice and took the children karting – which they loved! We also visited some of the pretty medieval villages. It is worth booking river boating or bike hire in advance in the summer months. We very much enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends.x
Manoir les Gaillardoux is stunning, and much bigger than we expected. The view from the master bedroom is breath-taking, and the house has been decorated beautifully inside and outside. There is so much to do around the house, from lounging by the pool, cooking on the BBQ, playing petanque – or pool if it rains – that there is no need to leave. If you do, Cahors is very nearby, and the market is well worth a trip. I could happily spend more than a week here – and it is best to do with a large group to use the house to its full potential.
I just wanted to send a quick note before we leave tomorrow morning. We’ve had a lovely holiday at the Manoir and everyone has enjoyed staying at this wonderful house. 13 days of sun and one massive electrical storm to entertain the children were just what we hoped for! I’d just like to say that we’ve been renting properties similar to the Manoir for the last 10 years and this has unquestionably been the most well organised holiday we’ve had, in one of the best houses.
In July 2011, our group of family and friends spent two very happy weeks at this lovely house in a beautiful, unspoiled part of France. All rooms are large, well furnished and equipped, including the kitchen. Most importantly, the beds are comfortable. Our party of 8 had more than enough room never to feel crowded. The spacious patio has two big tables, huge umbrellas, and a first-class gas barbeque. At the front, there is a large swimming pool. The Manoir, ten minutes south of beautiful Cahors, is situated in bucolic splendour on a large property. Scores of wine estates are nearby, many offering tastings and restaurants. Many great sights and weekly markets are within an easy drive. We all had a great time.
We were a group of 3 families with children ranging from 20 months to 8 years old. We loved the peaceful and picturesque location and it was lovely to allow the children to play and roam around the beautiful property. The views from the property are stunning and we enjoyed many meals outside on the patio just taking in the gorgeous countryside and slow sunsets. The Manoir itself is very spacious and comfortable. We all slept very well and also enjoyed cooking in the well provisioned kitchen.
Our days were spent either exploring the surrounding area or in the pool. Some of us also went skydiving one day at the local aerodrome which was fantastic and so close by! I would definitely recommend the property and hope we get the chance to visit again.”
We spent a wonderful week at Manoir Les Gaillardoux in June this year. The house is lovely, spacious with gorgeous views set in stunning surroundings with easy access to beautiful little towns and hilltop villages. A perfect place to relax and unwind
The house accommodated our varying needs to perfection”
“In August 2012 we spent 2 wonderful weeks at Manoir Les Gaillardoux. We were a family party of 10, with ages ranging from 9 years to the mid-seventies. The house accommodated our varying needs to perfection.
With 6 young people ensconced in the cleverly adapted wing with billiard room, TV and access to their own outside entrance through the small conservatory, whilst the rest of us luxuriated in the quiet and elegant main part of the house.
Everything in the Manoir has been tastefully done with an eye for comfort and peace. The well-facilitated kitchen and laundry area made our day-to-day living so easy whilst holidaying with my family.
The grounds were well tended and gave one private areas to read, ruminate or just enjoy the beautiful country views, whilst the more active members of the party were occupied in the pool area or just lounging on the comfortable sunbeds.
I totally recommend the enchanting Manoir to anyone who wishes to holiday in tranquil and elegant surroundings whilst exploring this beautiful area of France.
We spent a wonderful week in the Manoir which was spacious enough to accommodate our large group of 11. There was something for the older and younger members of our party. A splash in the pool or just a game of petanque on the gravel. The Manoir is tastefully restored and decorated.
There are plenty activities to choose from. As the villa is close to Cahors, shopping trips are within reach. The Manoir is also close to some vineyards which are worth the visit; driving back to London with some extra wine cases proved to be more challenging than expected. We also enjoyed the picturesque villages in the area.
Breakfast and dinner outside on the patio were a pure treat. Thank you again for making our stay memorable.
Le Manoir des Gaillardoux was a spectacular point of departure for the birthday week in September. The house is an amazing piece of architecture as all the architects and designers in the group agreed. It was a perfect setting for my friends from around the globe to gather and share a week of cooking; sampling; visiting; celebrating and thoroughly enjoying each other’s company in this wonderful region full of historical and natural sites to visit; fabulous restaurants, products and wine to sample and a gracious lifestyle to experience.
On arrival, we were met by the Manoir’s very gracious house manager, who introduced us to the house and all of its wonders, the handsome grounds; the meticulously designed accommodations and the extremely high standard of equipment at our disposal during our stay. No detail has been overlooked in the planning of this holiday house and a stay here feels like coming home. The house offers many spacious areas for guests to gather or to seek a moment of solitude. The pool area and the terrace off the dining room and kitchen were favourites for most, the sumptuous stone stairwell was mine.
Many thanks to the owners who went out of their way to assist in making this a very special memory. Being very exacting, I was extremely pleased as were all of my guests. Le Manoir provided perfect accommodations, beautiful interiors, furnishings and outdoor spaces – a wonderful setting for this week of celebration and the formal dinner party.
Merci infiniment pour le Manoir and all of our wonderful memories.
Manoir les Gaillardoux was the perfect holiday property for us! We were three families, including 6 kids ranging from 9 to 14. There was ample space for kids and adults alike, and the kids really enjoyed having the “annex” to themselves. The Manoir was beautifully appointed and highly functional, with all of the modern amenities one would like for a relaxing holiday in France.
The heated, saltwater pool was constantly enjoyed, and the views from around the property were stunning. The Manoir’s proximity to the local café/restaurant/store (located in Fontanes, about 2.5km from the property) was pleasant and convenient, as was its proximity to the beautiful “small city” of Cahors (15-20 minute drive). On several days, we were content to relax and enjoy the property, however there was no shortage of spectacular places to visit within a 30-90 minute drive from the Manoir.
Furthermore, Josiane was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end.
We are now returned and getting back into the swing of things at home having enjoyed a fantastic holiday at the Manoir. I know Duncan has already given you some feedback but we were very impressed with all of your assistance which made it a very special holiday for us and the rest of our family. Thank you again.
What a fantastic holiday we had at Manoir Les Gaillardoux in June 2011. The accommodation was superb and the Manoir furnished to a very high standard, with all bedrooms having en suite bathrooms. A perfect location for several people who want to enjoy a holiday together but, at the same time maintain their own space. The Manoir is enormous with many places to relax, read or just be on your own for a while. Situated in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful countryside, with Cahors only a short drive away. Plenty of great restaurants and wine tasting, if you desire. We ate mostly at the Manoir as the excellent cooking facilities there made the catering so easy and so relaxing. We hope to return there again soon.
You have made a marvellous job of refurbishing the Manoir – the very high quality of the décor, the abundant bathroom facilities, the high-tech kitchen and the deck at the rear of the property were all things that appealed to our party, and we had a great time. Thanks for all that you and your very friendly and helpful team did to make our stay so pleasant.
The Manoir provided an extremely high standard of accommodation, and comfortably hosted our two families with five children. There were numerous beautiful and original features, but the house did not compromise on comfort and modern conveniences. A very well equipped kitchen and immaculate bathrooms added five star touches to a historic building. We engaged the services of a local chef who prepared and served superb meals. The swimming pool was maintained to a perfect temperature, appealing to adults and children alike. We had a most relaxing holiday and thoroughly recommend the Manoir to anybody seeking a high-quality rental.
We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Manoir les Gaillardoux. The house is stunning, and much bigger than we expected- so much space! The house is divided into 2 wings which suited us perfectly & to have the choice of Twin or King beds in the rooms meant the house was tailor made for our group requirements. As a group of 12, the house was very generously equipped. You couldn’t run short on anything. Glasses, china, cutlery, towels, loungers, and space were aplenty which is a rarity in most rentals! We spent our days lounging by the stunning salt water pool and enjoying lovely long French style lunches on the terrace- we never wanted to leave. Josiane was fantastic and hugely helpful during and after the booking process and her team in France went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay in this fantastic house (and have recommended to people since).
We had such a lovely holiday at the villa. It worked ideally for two families as there was space for us all to be together and also for one or two of us to hide away and get some peace. Having the shopping sorted was a marvel. The house is beautifully decorated and restored and something to be proud of. We really enjoyed it, thank you!
We are even talking about a return visit next August.
We have rented many houses over the years, and this is really one of the best we have stayed at. Le Manoir is beautifully located, extremely spacious, very comfortable and well equipped, making for a 5-star break in some lovely unspoiled countryside.
No wonder we are coming back!
Thank you for the most memorable stay at Manoir Les Gaillardoux, everyone had just a perfect time. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, its facilities and had some fabulous day trips out and about.
